Lead the Future of Terminal Operations

Hutchison Ports Australia is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Manager – Terminal Operations at Brisbane Container Terminal.

This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced operational leader who is passionate about safety, performance and developing high-performing teams. Reporting directly to the GM Commercial/CEO, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence across the terminal while supporting the strategic direction of the business.

About the Role

As Manager – Terminal Operations, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of terminal operations to ensure the efficient allocation of labour, equipment and resources, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational performance and customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing operational leadership teams to achieve business objectives.

• Driving operational efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Managing operational budgets and contributing to business planning.

• Ensuring compliance with all WHS, security and regulatory requirements.

• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and external agencies.

• Leading employee performance, workforce planning and industrial relations matters.

• Supporting strategic initiatives that enhance terminal capability and commercial performance.

About You

You will bring:

• Significant leadership experience in a senior operational management role within transport, logistics, shipping, ports or a similar industry.

• Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams in a dynamic environment.

• Strong commercial acumen and sound decision-making capability.

• Experience managing employee relations and industrial matters.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

• A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

• Tertiary qualifications (preferred).
