What You’ll Be Doing
Drive effective employee relations in a complex, unionised terminal environment by providing expert, pragmatic advice and coaching to leaders.
Empower front-line leadership to lift workforce performance and standards of conduct through tailored coaching and capability-building initiatives.
Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreement provisions confidently, enabling managers to address compliance gaps proactively and maintain industrial harmony.
Lead end-to-end talent acquisition for the Brisbane operation, positioning Hutchison Ports as the employer of choice through innovative sourcing strategies and a superior candidate experience.
Deliver integrated HR strategies and programmes across the full employee lifecycle—including performance management, career development, succession planning, and talent optimisation.
Champion engagement, diversity, and wellbeing by designing and implementing initiatives that strengthen culture and improve retention.
Partner with HSEQ teams to embed a proactive safety mindset and reinforce compliance with health and safety standards.
Harness HR data and technology to generate actionable insights, monitor workforce trends, and drive continuous improvement.
Lead local HR projects while contributing to national strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with Hutchison Ports Australia’s long-term vision.
What You’ll Bring
Extensive HR expertise with 7+ years’ experience in dynamic industrial or operational environments, ideally within unionised settings.
Deep understanding of employment law, enterprise agreements, and IR/ER principles, enabling you to navigate complex workforce challenges with confidence.
Proven capability in managing performance and conduct processes, delivering fair, timely, and effective outcomes.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and foster collaborative relationships at all levels.
Analytical and solutions-focused mindset, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decisions and deliver pragmatic, commercially sound outcomes.
