We are seeking an Accountant to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical skills, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information to support key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs – Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Manage general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for management review.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors for statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
• Contribute to the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation as required.

Essential Criteria for Accounting Positions – Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial processing.
• Experience with accounting software packages such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a dynamic accounting environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial practices.

Desirable Accounting Skills & Experience

• CA/CPA qualification (completed or in progress) highly regarded.
• Experience in accounting roles within the transport, logistics, or stevedoring industry.
• Exposure to financial reporting in a multi-entity or international business structure.
• Knowledge of taxation, payroll, and statutory compliance requirements.
